THE WORKS OF EDGAR ALLEN POE: Here’s a link to all his stories and poems. His macabre and dark approach to writing has touched many across the globe
THE WORKS OF H.P LOVECRAFT: Another gothic writer whose style is both suspenseful and vivid
THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW: Another classic, beware of the headless horseman
THE TURN OF THE SCREW: A tale about a governess who becomes convinced that she and her charges are being stalked by ghosts.
THE MONKEY’S PAW: You probably have heard of this one. Be careful what you wish for.
THE LOTTERY: It might not seem like a horror story, but once you realize what’s happening you will definitly be horrified. If you don’t understand here’s a site that will clear some things up
WHERE ARE YOU GOING, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN: About a 15 year old girl’s encounter with a threatening but charismatic stranger. A popular dark tale.
THE SIGNAL MAN: By Charles Dickon’s, a railroad worker tells the story of a ghost that seems to appear to him as a premonition of some horrible railway tragedy
THE MORTAL IMMORTAL: Mary Shelley may have been known for Frankenstein, but here’s another dark tale by her. It’s the story of a man who wants to play God, but finds his sanity is the price
THE WOMAN IN BLACK: You probably have heard of the movie, but read the classic story behind it. Whenever she is seen, a child dies.
BONUS: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier: I read this for my Gothic Literature class in high school. I loved it. A dark novel with plenty of twists to keep you on the edge.

Back To School Senior Year

Okay, so seeing as how this can be a great topic to start with, and seeing as how I haven’t really spoken to any of you in quite a long time, it’s time to talk back to school!

I go to an all girls school, and I’ve been there since the 6th grade. I was a part of their first 6th grade installment, consisting of only 25 girls, and now I’m a senior with a class of 70 young, wonderfully talented women venturing into the real world beside me.

So with all that poetic wording done, let’s talk facts.

We had to wait outside UNTIL 8:20 today, but because that’s about 550 so girls, the line to get into school was murder (my friends and I were standing out there since 8, and we didn’t get in until 8:48.) Nobody knows why we had to do that, but the school didn’t give anyone detention for coming in late, since they knew it would happen. We used to go from 8:45-3:15 (2:40 on Fridays), and now we go form 8:40-3:06 (2:36 on Fridays). They were trying to get the girls out earlier, but as you can see there wasn’t much leeway. Nonetheless, anything is better, and 5 minutes early in the morning for 9 minutes early in the afternoon? Can’t complain.

That is if I had a 7th period. Turns out I don’t, I’ve only got up to 6th, and electives are 7th. I really want to take film, so I’ll only have a 7th on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which isn’t a pain; Friday’s I get out even earlier, and that is honestly just so beautiful.

I’m sorry if this seems a little rushed and like I’m bragging; I really don’t mean for it to come off like at all! There’s a longgg story to this, and I’m actually about to go to bed, but I’ll be sure to explain everything tomorrow in more clear depth and what not.

G’night~! <3

Charda Gregory abducted, humiliated, violated, restrained, scalped and tortured.
If this were reversed, with black police officers who were sworn to uphold peace and justice but instead were documented victimizing a white woman (who was already a victim), this news would have trumped the Olympics!

Truncated version: drugged at a party, abducted to a motel, wakes up during unwanted sexual violation in a motel room full of strangers, fights like hell to escape, motel employee calls the authorities, she gets arrested for destroying motel property and it just gets worst from there.

Every officer who participated in it and even those who witnessed it and did nothing should be punished but instead they just fired the woman?
No rape kit, no police report on the people inside the motel room, no investigation of her claims, no accountability for missing motel entry records, no video from the motel but she gets detained for fourteen days?

(Btw, when did your tax dollars begin purchasing Abu Ghraib type water boarding chairs?)

I get angrier and angrier everyday when I see things like this.
